PVP marked

I recently heard that when pvp marked you lower your stats - is that true? I think its bs but recently the raid leader kicked a rogue because he was pvp marked based on this reason. can anyone help?|||Ummm... that is not true. Turning on PVP doesn't change your stats.|||Well, being flagged will often mean that you get "missed" for group buffs. (Or that whoever buffed you ends up flagged and may get missed for some other buffs.) Simply put, group buffs will skip over anyone who is PvP flagged unless the person doing the buffing is flagged themselves or if they target someone who is flagged. I suppose it would be fair to say that not getting those buffs does lower your stats from what they should be for a raid.

There is also the annoying side affect that flagged people gathering in front of an instance can often cause little brawls that just delay the entire group getting started.

Basically, coming to a raid flagged just makes things a lot harder.|||Wow.... so much easier to just play on a PvP server lol|||yea, we had a few transferes from pvp to pve. I understand the "want" to turn off pvp before going into an instance but to come of with "it lowers your stats" its just blatent BS as I thought. I sometimes wonder why some ppl come to pve servers from pvp and complain about having to mark themselves or when asked to turn it off for an instance? guess ill never know.|||tell them to go back to their pvp servers.|||Agreed that it doesn't directly lower your stats, but also agreed that you shouldn't show up for a raid PvP flagged on a PvE server. As has been pointed out, if your priests throw Prayer of Fortitude on your group while targetting a non-flagged PvP player, any PvP flagged players won't get the buff, which means my choices are:

1) check the group to see if anyone is PvP flagged, then target the flagged person if one exists.

2) buff the group, then check each person to make sure they got the buff.

3) buff the group, checking only the person targetted to make sure they're not flagged, and if anyone is flagged, buff them later when the flag drops off.

Now, since this is a pain, I'm not going to pass on the pain to anyone buffing me, so I chose option 3 in most cases.
