I am on and off playing BG's just to get honor towards S2 lately, and usually when I'm playing my chars, I'm going in as a DPS spec, but I really love healing in BG's and I'm absolutely going to 90% of the time... The thing is, am I hurting my team even though I have really good gear?
For example, my 67 Druid has about +700 healing in healing Gear, but has very good Feral gear (29% crit, 1850 AP, 7300ish health in cat form) is it worth healing in BG's if I'm going to be better at DPS, even though I prefer, and probably am better at healing? (I've never been much of the "get in your face and DPS the crap out of you" guy... Cause I usually lose when it comes to that since I'm so squishy on my DPS chars.)|||Depends which BG and what other classes are in that particular BG.
If you were in WSG and had no other healers and you were healing the Fc then i would think you would be helping the cause. On the other hand if you had three main spec healers and your team had trouble grabbing the flag or getting yours back, and you were the fourth healer then yes you would be better off going cat and grabbing the flag or stealthing in and WTF pawning their FC.
the whole point of a multi spec class is that (especially in BGs) you can change tactics as required.|||To be honest, as DPS, I'll take any healing I can get in BG's...I"m not picky given the lack of healing I see. And hey...at least you are going afk right? Do what makes you happy!|||Yeah, I usually tend to ask before the BG starts who's a healer, and who's going to be grabbing the flag and holding it the most. If it's AV, I 99% of the time throw on my healing suit and heal away. If it's WSG I ask, same with AB and EotS. If there's too many DPS and only like, 1 healer, or no one answers, I throw on my healing gear.|||Quote:

and to that I /salute you. The world (of warcraft) needs more healers.
I often /hug a healer when they heal me after I dps someone down.|||Love makes the world go 'round!|||Quote:

That's why I use Wardrobe2.
I carry my healing gear (nothing great, but comes in handy) and can switch on the fly. At a boss and just one healer? I let him take the tank (and help if needed) while healing everyone else. Doesn't hurt but I wouldn't ALWAYS do it or anything, just for those times when no one else is available.|||Lol, MrBCorp, me too.
I dislike Wardrobe, it only takes me a couple seconds to put on the healing gear anyway.|||Quote:

Part of being a good player is knowing what out of the ordinary actions certain sitautions call for. for example, though my main is a shadow priest and most of the time I am DPSing in WSG sometimes it s clearly more valuable for me to drop Shadowform and heal the FC or even if I'm FCing myself to do it out of shadowform.|||Yeah, it's just in a 60-69 bracket usually everyone is DPS specced cause they're leveling, and when I see someone in healing gear in a BG it's very surprising and that's why I've almost always enjoyed healing in BG's. Helps us all out, and it is appreciated.
