So, has anybody an idea what will happen to arenas when there is a new level cap? I mean, the general assumption has been that season 4 will come out before WotLK so we will be mid season when WotLK comes out.
Will Level 70+ compete against 70's?
Will level 70+ continue to use season 3 gear?
Will there be a new bracket at level 80?
Will the old level 70 bracket remain? Will Blizzard kill it or will it just atrophy as people level out of it?|||I suppose it will be just like the battlegrounds, there'll be a level 70 arena queue and a level 80 arena queue separated from each other.
About the gear, level 70 arena will have season 1,2,3 as required level 70 sets, when you have WotLK the first green you get from a quest will probably be better than arena season 3.
So the level 70+ players won't be using the previous season sets, and the level 80 arena will have their own required level 80 sets... I suppose...|||I believe I read that T5/6 and Season 4 would be viable until late in the patch. So where will a lvl 75 be using the Season 4 gear? You certainly won't que up against 70's will you? You aren't yet 80 so that que won't be open.

That's why I don't think S4 should come out till Lich King. There are 3 tier sets in TBC, and three arena gear levels that match the tier set graphics.
Now, when Lich King comes out, rated arena should stop (skirmish matches still run, though) till enough of the player base gets to 80 (should only be a couple weeks). Then, S4 begins, with a whole new set of gear and graphics ready for the new 80's.|||If arena stops during this time, people won't have the chance to earn points for the new arena gear in the first place, so they will start lvl 80 arena in lvl70 pvp items, or mixed with some lvl76-80 blues, depending on how good the items are, or one or two lvl80 pvp items if people have points saved up, but again, not a lot of people have a huge stack of unspent arena points. Yes i know some 'hardcore/very high rating' teams do, but they are not the majority of the player base, it all depends on how long people have been doing arena. As the game is still growing, some people are still only hitting 70 therefore have no gear or saved up points, and those points get spent straight away to get the much needed gear to even compete in arena in the first place.
I just can't see it going well, I definately wouldn't want to be 70 and going up against some 78's in an arena fight. completely unfair considering they will have new skills/talents.

This issue doesn't even make sense, and blizzard knows that....so, it won't happen.

That would be my guess too. I figure they will make the 80 arena coincide with S5 but I'm not certain, they could also just boost s4 with some lvl 80 equivalents but then it seems like we're getting more complex scenarios.|||They'll probably keep the same pattern they did when Outlands came. Level 70-79 WSG/AB/Eye, Level 80 ditto, level 71-80 AV and 61-70 AV.|||Quote:

Separate 70 and 80 arena. Simple and easy. You can save up arena point between s4 and WotLK
