countering stunlocks

Ive just hit level 69 and plan to PVP for a while to build up honour so I can get some decent pvp gear right after hitting 70 I think itll be easier to do this when at the top of the bracket rather than the latest know-nothing and under-geared 70 in the endgame battlegrounds.

But I find myself becoming more and more frustrated by the endless Rogue stunlocks, Warlock fears and who knows what else that cause me to stand (or run around) helplessly. As a Hunter I have a few of these myself (Concussive Shot, Scatter Shot etc) but what I really want is an effective way to avoid being locked etc.

I have the Insignia of the Alliance, but the 5 minute cooldown is very long.

What should I be focusing on to avoid the frustrating and useless key mashing that comes with stuns and so on?|||If you ever find out let me know. Tried the stun pots once and they had no effect.|||The way I see it, you have two options:

1: Stay in a close group of 2/3 people (or more.) You won't be singled out for Stuns as much because you'l have back-up.

2: Roll a Paladin and hit Divine Shield then run away.|||Use your flare. I do as much as possible whenever it's off it's cooldown which is fairly short. It's amazing how many times you can catch rogues out and then scatter shot, trap and get range. Five minutes does seem like a long time, but in battlegrounds time passes very quickly. Also I do try to save my insignia for the stunlocks, not so much for fear as I find lots don't attack you apart from maybe those damned awful life siphoning warlocks ;)|||Always amazes me how quickly a loc can get 806 DoTs on my before I get one instant cast on them :)|||I've started using Stoneform (I'm a dwarf) which helps with the poisons, but the most effective method I've found is travelling in a group like Tylrdiablos said. The problem with that is the only BG alliance are anywhere near organised enough to do that is Alterac Valley.

I was wondering if that was because the bracket extends to 70?|||8000 honor gets you the 2 minutes insignia instead of the 5 minutes version.

helps alot allready.

+ it even has some resilence on it.|||Quote:

no. its because AV requires the least amount of oranization and thought. you can do it while half asleep.|||First off as a hunter have you pet on agressive. They sometimes spot rogues prepairing to open on you. Secondly if you can use your pat stun on them at the right time you can sometimes recover from the stun sooner than they can and distance yourself.

Against fears... well you dont have a lot to go on. If you are BM you can beast within when you see the fear being cast. As MM silence shot and your stuns are all you really have to work with. I am no hunter expert but i believe you can FD when you see them target you to interupt thier cast.

I suggest only grind honor to get your bow when you hit 70. Buy the rep PVP items and start there. As your resilience goes up the stun locks will need to last long becuase you take less damage leaving more room to resist a stun.

And dont forget that some classes really struggle against others. For example most Hunters WTFPWN my disc priest, whereas Rogues are rather simple as long as my sheild is up when they open on me.
