question about making my first twink

[:1]So yes, making my first twink.

Im sure you get this all the time but is there one outstanding class for a twink? Or is each class viable?

I have been thinking about making one for a while and I have been leaning towards a rogue just because I always seem to get owned by them... I am also considering a pally or a druid. Pally might be ideal because I already have a level 15 pally, so close enough to start twinking, but I don't particularly enjoy him.

Druids seem fun and I already have a level 10 druid so I guess that's fairly easy too.

So yes, any advice would be mucly appreciated|||It'd help if you'd state:

1) What bracket

2) What sort of job you're looking for. (Healer / DPS / Flag Carrier / Support etc)|||Quote:

Oh ok, sorry about that.

Id probably be wanting to do dps and bracket? I was thinking 10-19, possibly 20-29 later down the track.|||Rogue is always a safe bet for either bracket.

Hunters are a good second choice.

Druids work, but generally aren't feral at that level. Most of them (as in 90% or so) are healer/caster. Mind you, I'd really not advice a Druid as your first twink. To make it any good, it would require a lot of work and a big rep grind - for which you'll need assistance as well.

DPS Paladins generally do better @ 39 or 49 or higher. I know the feeling when it comes to them - had a level 18 one I was going park @ 19, and deleted it anyway.

Most any class can be twinked if you want though.

When you decided on your twink-to-be, go to the various battlegroup forums (on the official forums) and check there for the 10-19 thread or a stickied twink thread. You can get to the armory of some twink(guild)s from there for research.

I do have to warn you that if you're serious about twinking, that the 10-19 bracket is probably the most gear intensive bracket out there. You can do fine with most 'good' gear, but the 'Best in Slot' items require a lot of effort.|||Answer: Don't make one.

Sorry to be so blunt, but... They sort of are taking away the twink next patch, and if you turn off XP Gained you will ONLY fight against other people who have XP Turned off (As far as I had read, that's EXACTLY what it said in the patch notes last time I saw that.) so...|||Quote:

They are not "taking away the twink."

And why is that a bad thing?|||I'm just saying, you're technically no longer a twink next patch. You're fighting other twinks, therefore you're on an equal level.

As far as I've seen, twinks want to be the people who ruin BG's by having 2K health at 19 and being able to 2-shot everyone, that's where they find their joy.|||A twink is a character with the best possible gear for the level. There is no difference whether or not it can get experience.

Furthermore, whether or not -you- like it is completely irrelevant to the person asking this question. They do, and as long as Blizzard allows it (which they have and are going through extreme lengths to keep it this way), it's a completely valid style of play.

Now, instead of harassing this person about their choice, offer some valid advice.|||Hello Marlas,

I'd say roll with whatever class you like best or are familiar with. However, Hunters are generally a good class to go with, they have quite a bit of utility and benefit well from gear. They are also good at many jobs in BGs such as base/node defense, anti-flag carrier, and general field dps. Their main enemies are the rogue and paladin (sorta).

Short breakdown of classes and their general roles:

Rogues: excellent flag carriers/anti-flag carriers/debuffers and dps

Paladins: nice dps and great healers

Shamans: ok flag carriers/dps/healers (jack of all trades, kind of lackluster compared to others, mostly due to lack of dual weilding)

Druids: good flag carriers/healers/debuffers and can be decent dps

Warriors: decent flag carriers and dps, but rage is a difficult mechanic in the "burst fest" that is low level PvP

Casters: not a fan of them due to low armor/hp (now even greater due to the loss of the spell threads), but if played well they can be great (especially ice mages)

I'd wait till 3.2 to start building a twink, it will lower the anxiety and difficulty in getting gear and avoiding outleveling the bracket (for some quests, you currently have to be dead to bypass experience gains). My favorite bracket has to be 29, its slightly more balanced, but you still get a good boost from gear, and access to more TBC enchants. One thing I can't stress enough is that you not overlook professions (herbalism and engineering for me) and consumables (I can whip up a list if you like), they're just as important as getting the right gear. There are a few places you can go for in-depth info and resources, such as PWN Depot and Twink Info. They tend to keep up to date on changes and speculate/share info freely.|||Dont make one m8 your to late for 19 twinking the best part you missed. You should of began twinking in 2005-2006 when twinking was unpopular and when it was about skills.

Everyone has a twink now like everyone has a 80;)
