pvp gear

[:1]I came to level 80 at an awkward time before a major update. I see that I can buy a hole slew of pvp items from the npc vendor with just honor points. Is this typical and will I be able to do this once cata comes out?



I wasn't sure if you needed to be ranked in the arena for the regular pvp items typically or not. Is all this pvp gear available all of the time?



Thank you.|||In Wrath, you needed to have a certain rating to buy most top end gear.

They are changing that in Catclysm. The only thing you will need rating for is the top end weapon and the "high end" armor set. (The "high end" armor set will have the same stats as the normal one, it will just have a different look so high rated people can still feel special.)

I'm not entirely sure at this point what you will be able to buy with honor. Keep in mind, though that conquest points are going to be the higher teir currency. I'm just not sure at this point if honor will be able to buy offset pieces (like in Burning Crusades) or if it will just be able to purchase the previous season's gear.

Either way, I wouldn't buy anything now. You'll get more use from the starter PvP gear you can buy with honor at 85 than you will from the level 80 gear over the next week and a half.
