[:1]Ok so I know gearing up will be MUCH easyer now that the patch will be live. But this is my first 39 twink and I have no idea how I should gear up. Like when should I be going into an instance to get some gear? And which instances should I be going into?
So you know what I'll be needing I am going to be a 39 ret paladin. (Might consider holy and prot) Any helpfull info would be much appreciated.|||Scarlet Monastery.
Uldaman.
Razorfen ... Kraul I think. Whichever is the highest level of the two.
You can turn off Exp in the coming patch, so just go there @ 39.|||God this patch is going to be so much helpful. Now I can get people to help me farm for the rest of this UC rep I'm going for. And now I can run all I want hah.

The best twinking guide now available in english!
[:1]Hi everyone and welcome on http://www.wow-twink.com/en/
(I already posted on community but I see more posts about twink here :))
"An easy way of twinking"
Mamytwink created www.wow-twink.com in may 2008 in order to provide an easy French twinking guide, so every single french player could make a twink (without having any knowledge).
After one year, she wrote more than 60 different guides, created more than 40 gears and she contributed the French community getting larger and more active (forums, events, news of the community, etc.).
en
In June 2009, she decided to translate my gears and guides in English, with the same idea: provide an easy twinking guide that could be read by anyone. Of course, she have a partnership with the first English twinking website 'twinkinfo'. She won't post any 'news' about the English community or twinking updates, because they already do that (and it's great)!
Thereby, the English part of wow-twink will provide gears and guides related to the different quests, professions or events. The website will be dynamic: every comment that improves the class/guide will be considered.|||Just the one thread please Lomithrani.
The link is safe for anyone wondering :)|||Is this still a work in progress? Because I only see a few guides for 19.

Help with 39 warlock twink gear
[:1]Well im slightly addicted to twinking because there just so dag on fun, i currently have a 19 priest, 19 druid, and 29 paladin twink. the next twink id like to make is a 39 warlock twink, could anyone give me a up to date best gear possible for a 39 warlock twink please?|||I'm not familiar with warlocks myself, and I only know one 39 really, Huine of Trollbane EU (http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...e&n=Huin%C3%AB). I'd suggest Pwn Depot or Twink Info (the forums especially) for varried builds, hers is more "glass cannon".|||Well ive googled my butt of looking for builds and most of what i found were poue-WoTLK stuff, Ty for the link tho|||Oh, I see. Well, there is also the option of scrolling through WoWhead's Profiler (set the filter for a high HK count achievement to weed out passive PvPers). Its decent, might could cobble something together from a few twinks.
Post your twink

Post em' all, and maybe give some input to your fellow players of the twink community:
- Better items
- Better enchants
- Better spec
- etc.
My 19 mage:
http://armory.wow-europe.com/#charac...&n=Watchmekite
It is really hard to find some of the items on AH, so therefor I have settled myself with only 7 Fire Spell damage gloves. But still I'm quite pleased with my selection of gear and enchants. Also my legs, there are some with 11 Fire Damage out there, but havent found them yet.
What I miss is some better boots, currently looking for "Of the Eagle" with 4 int and 4 stam.
My highest crit with a fireball: 346

The next goal is to get the insignia of the horde - and maybe if I can get some help, getting 2 of the Arena Master trinkets (2x 12 stamina in patch 2.1 would be sweet).
Go ahead people don't be shy, pictures are also welcome.|||Im not linking as i am at work but my two are:
Koortwink 29 hunter and kooret 29 pally - Blackrock - Bloodlust battle group.
Koortwink is finished, except for a 9/9 green helm that never comes on the AH.
Kooret, just needs a couple of enchants, PVP rewards, and better green gear as it pops on the AH, enchants should be finished by the end of the week.
Check these both out if you want to see a decently geared twink.
However I dont have the arena trinket or fishing cap.|||lvl 39 twink warlock - kerolocki on medivh
missing 2 "of shadow wrath" items - the shoulder slot & the back slot. consequently, i'm missing the +20 spell penetration enchant on the back slot while i sport then "of the eagle" variety. i will probably upgrade my weapon enchant from +40 spell damage to "soulfrost" (+54 frost/shadow) and eventually(?) go after a couple AGMs.
best crit - 750+ instant shadow bolt (i only cast them when nightfall procs).
most enemies taken at once (pvp, ofc) - 4 :)
pray you don't see me in the bg :)|||Here's mine: Medik on Anderhol
Its still a work in progress. Pretty much none of my guild play any more so I have been slow in completing the build and have been focusing on leveling my Main on a different realm..|||I have a few old retired twinks, but, recently I ahve been trying to level a shaman to 70 on a server where some of my friends are. Apparently their raiding guild broke upa nd they got into a guild that mostly does 5 mans and PVP. My friend told the guild leader about my twinking experience and they recruited me to help them build their twinks.
Not sure if these guys will go through with it, but, they sound genuine.
i build a gnome warrior, and for laughs I took him in a completely different direction than I normally go.
I can't link armory from work, but, check out Twofeetoleet on Surmar server.
I don't have all my gear yet, but, i only put about 12-16 hours playtime into him.
I am only going to have about 1000 hps when done, but, I will break 30% crit and have a pocket healer most of the time|||Most of my twinks are still being worked on, but I am making progress...
19 Twinks
Flagcarrier - 19 Warrior <R I P Inc> Firetree
This is my main twink, got the head libram on the way, and just need to farm the 9 stamina (instead of 7 stam) on the bracers with my main, then work on the STV stuff. Not my first twink 19 warrior, because my former is retired mostly because she is on another realm (Gurubashi) and Flag is much much more twinked than she is.
Flagcarrierr - 19 Paladin <Untouchable> Spirestone
This is my latest twink, I went to Spirestone to say whats up to one of my twink buddies from that realm, and he immediately invited my level 1 guy into his rather large twink guild, and made me an officer, and told everyone that I am now 2nd when it comes to flag running LOL. I didn't plan on making a new twink at the time, especially not a pally (was the first character at the screen when I made the name), but he (the guild master, Lokomo) told me that if I made a character here, he would twink him out for me. So this last friday, I started on this one, finished leveling him sunday, and was in their premade monday night haha.
I also have a few twinks that are still being leveled, they are works in progress...
39 Twinks
Overthrow - 39 Warlock (currently level 26) <Graveyard Campers> Firetree
This is my current work in progress (well, I got interrupted with my pally, but that was mostly to make sure I had the pants done and equipped by patch), doing the leveling portion now, and keeping an eye out on the AH for the BOE twink stuff that I need. The guild is still a tossup, the Graveyard Campers are a guild that I rolled with when I was leveling up my alt for the 39 bracket, and I love the people in there (and despite the name, they don't camp graveyards, ever), but I am also in the process of trying to get my 19 twink guild into the 39s, so I might be affiliated with R I P Inc with this guy, but if I am, I will definitely have this next twink in GYC...
Thedirty - 39 Shaman (currently 33) <Graveyard Campers> Firetree
This one was originally my 29 twink (well, half twink, I didn't get enchants, but had the gear) and was also the very first character I had on firetree. I have since created 9 other characters on the realm, and leveled this guy out of the 29 bracket to join the 39s. I will mostly be on Overthrow in the 39 bracket, because I don't want to be put into the flag running position on all my twinks, and would rather do something different in this bracket, but I will still get this guy twinked out eventually, he will just have to wait for other guys to get done first.
49 Twink
Ayora - 49 Priest (currently 43) <Gank You Come Again> Firetree
My plan is to go to 49 with this one, but I might not because the 49 bracket sucks on the Reckoning battlegroup (the only bracket that really does, the others are very very competetive), and I might just move this character to Kalygos (sp?) to join KollegeGurl, Stigg, and everyone else over there. Not sure exactly what I will do yet, but figured I'd put this one out there.
That's pretty much it, might make my rogue into a 69 twink, but that is still in the air (leveling a druid to be my new main, rogue is sitting at 65 and is used mainly now to gank and farm).|||19 Twink

question about making my first twink
[:1]So yes, making my first twink.
Im sure you get this all the time but is there one outstanding class for a twink? Or is each class viable?
I have been thinking about making one for a while and I have been leaning towards a rogue just because I always seem to get owned by them... I am also considering a pally or a druid. Pally might be ideal because I already have a level 15 pally, so close enough to start twinking, but I don't particularly enjoy him.
Druids seem fun and I already have a level 10 druid so I guess that's fairly easy too.
So yes, any advice would be mucly appreciated|||It'd help if you'd state:
1) What bracket
2) What sort of job you're looking for. (Healer / DPS / Flag Carrier / Support etc)|||Quote:

Oh ok, sorry about that.
Id probably be wanting to do dps and bracket? I was thinking 10-19, possibly 20-29 later down the track.|||Rogue is always a safe bet for either bracket.
Hunters are a good second choice.
Druids work, but generally aren't feral at that level. Most of them (as in 90% or so) are healer/caster. Mind you, I'd really not advice a Druid as your first twink. To make it any good, it would require a lot of work and a big rep grind - for which you'll need assistance as well.
DPS Paladins generally do better @ 39 or 49 or higher. I know the feeling when it comes to them - had a level 18 one I was going park @ 19, and deleted it anyway.
Most any class can be twinked if you want though.
When you decided on your twink-to-be, go to the various battlegroup forums (on the official forums) and check there for the 10-19 thread or a stickied twink thread. You can get to the armory of some twink(guild)s from there for research.
I do have to warn you that if you're serious about twinking, that the 10-19 bracket is probably the most gear intensive bracket out there. You can do fine with most 'good' gear, but the 'Best in Slot' items require a lot of effort.|||Answer: Don't make one.
Sorry to be so blunt, but... They sort of are taking away the twink next patch, and if you turn off XP Gained you will ONLY fight against other people who have XP Turned off (As far as I had read, that's EXACTLY what it said in the patch notes last time I saw that.) so...|||Quote:

And why is that a bad thing?|||I'm just saying, you're technically no longer a twink next patch. You're fighting other twinks, therefore you're on an equal level.
As far as I've seen, twinks want to be the people who ruin BG's by having 2K health at 19 and being able to 2-shot everyone, that's where they find their joy.|||A twink is a character with the best possible gear for the level. There is no difference whether or not it can get experience.
Furthermore, whether or not -you- like it is completely irrelevant to the person asking this question. They do, and as long as Blizzard allows it (which they have and are going through extreme lengths to keep it this way), it's a completely valid style of play.
Now, instead of harassing this person about their choice, offer some valid advice.|||Hello Marlas,
I'd say roll with whatever class you like best or are familiar with. However, Hunters are generally a good class to go with, they have quite a bit of utility and benefit well from gear. They are also good at many jobs in BGs such as base/node defense, anti-flag carrier, and general field dps. Their main enemies are the rogue and paladin (sorta).
Short breakdown of classes and their general roles:
Rogues: excellent flag carriers/anti-flag carriers/debuffers and dps
Paladins: nice dps and great healers
Shamans: ok flag carriers/dps/healers (jack of all trades, kind of lackluster compared to others, mostly due to lack of dual weilding)
Druids: good flag carriers/healers/debuffers and can be decent dps
Warriors: decent flag carriers and dps, but rage is a difficult mechanic in the "burst fest" that is low level PvP
Casters: not a fan of them due to low armor/hp (now even greater due to the loss of the spell threads), but if played well they can be great (especially ice mages)
I'd wait till 3.2 to start building a twink, it will lower the anxiety and difficulty in getting gear and avoiding outleveling the bracket (for some quests, you currently have to be dead to bypass experience gains). My favorite bracket has to be 29, its slightly more balanced, but you still get a good boost from gear, and access to more TBC enchants. One thing I can't stress enough is that you not overlook professions (herbalism and engineering for me) and consumables (I can whip up a list if you like), they're just as important as getting the right gear. There are a few places you can go for in-depth info and resources, such as PWN Depot and Twink Info. They tend to keep up to date on changes and speculate/share info freely.|||Dont make one m8 your to late for 19 twinking the best part you missed. You should of began twinking in 2005-2006 when twinking was unpopular and when it was about skills.
Everyone has a twink now like everyone has a 80;)

The Shaman Class in PvP...
[:1]1. This is NOT a "Omg QQ I lose so much to them." or a "Omg, they suck lolz." thread.
2. This is my opinion, as always.
I have noticed that usually people who dual-box (Or tri-box, or 4 or 5-box) tend to roll all Shaman. Why? The burst damage as Elemental is insane, and they have the ability to heal, while they also wear Mail and can wear a shield, which in PvP is a big advantage to have while not giving up anything. I've noticed in my little time in Arena (A couple months) that the dual-boxxers almost always seemed to be the Shaman class. I could NEVER win against them. In WG people die by the handful before we can even touch this 5-box Shaman group. If we have 10+ people on them, we usually are successful.
I know that boxxing is legal, and I'm fine with it... It's just I've seemed to also notice that the Shaman class seems to be fairly powerful when played correctly, even by itself. In PvE my Shaman is only 67 and I dual-specced him. Elemental+Resto.
I cannot seem to find too many flaws in my Shaman, honestly. I can deal around 1.3K-1.5K DPS (Sometimes more) as Elemental in groups(5-man), solo around 1K-1.2K. If I'm healing in groups, even with a bad tank that has crappy gear but can hold aggro, I will EASILY heal through it. I know this will change a little once I hit Northrend and do those instances, but I don't see how it will change much.
So, back to Arena, if there's a Shaman healer it's VERY difficult to get him down, even if he has less than 20K health and eh gear. Totems are easy to kill, but difficult to target (Even with the macro.) and will be even harder with the next coming patch.
I'm not going to drag it on too long, it's just that I feel people say the Shaman is much worse than it actually is, because although my Shaman isn't 80, I feel powerful even in just half decent gear for my level. That, and my friend has a Shaman and he had a 2K Arena rating or somewhere along there a few months ago until he quit for awhile...|||Quote:

Anyway, dual-boxers are annoying if you have no clue how to deal with them. Take out the lead-box and your problem is solved.|||Kind of funny how you just assume that I know nothing about it if I don't have an 80 Shaman. I have just about every class to 68+ now, with every class being at least level 64. I have played for 5 years nearly now and understand every class very well, it's not like I haven't done my research and don't check patch notes for EVERY class when a PTR comes up. I know my class, and I feel that was rude of you.|||And I feel your post is bovine manure, to be honest.
In the wild, classes have a different power curve. One need only take a look at which classes dominate lower level brackets. What you experience in your mid-60s or mid-70s is completely different from 80, where people are decked out in epics, resilience and finally have all abilities available to them.
Yes, burst damage on elementals is big. So is the burst of, say, Destro Warlocks, Feral Druids, Retadins, Arcane Mages, .. Resilience reduces burst as well, and 25k health will soak burst a lot better than 8k health will.
Yes, they wear mail - most classes have a slew of abilities that ignore armour.
The majority of Elemental damage is based on cast time - there's a ton of classes that bring with them Stuns of Interrupts.
Shaman healers are among the easier ones to take down, exactly because of the cast time again. They can't watershield tank classes for a while, and if they Earthshield tank they run oom faster than quite most other classes.
You have not played a Shaman at 80. You apparently barely fought Shamans at 80. Your friend hitting 2k with it is largely irrelevant. Every single class is represented in one way or another @ 2k. That doesn't mean they're suddenly powerhouses. It means your friend is good at people and found some people who are good too.
The fact that you state "I have every class @ 68+" means you simply are completely oblivious to the changes it brings once you do hit level 80 and and gear up. You wouldn't have even bothered to mention it otherwise.|||Considering I even said that on my DK in Arena they are nearly impossible to stop (Yes, I know what interrupts are.) I understand them at 80 and have played plenty with one and against one (Or two) so you're wrong there.
Yes, the burst damage is big, the cast times are fairly low. Everyone just about knows that Paladin's are plate wearing cannons that have a nuke in them aimed right at you, so... No point in really saying that a Paladin has high burst, we already knew that they're a bit too strong.
I also already said I have like, 22K HP with around 500 resil on my DK, sure, not the best... But I still am able to do a little bit with that, and at peak time when I fight equally geared people, Shaman in the group is automatic "Oh F***".
I didn't exactly say I have every class to 68+, but meh, moving past that... How am I oblivious to the changes? I'd say I'm fairly good at every class I've played, and I don't need to prove anything. You simply jumped up and went "Lulz dum poast! Time to trollz." and that's worse than anything.|||The Shaman class may not look terrible until you play it in PvP.
In PvE we are doing ok. Elemental is however lacking, enhance is fine, and resto is fine (though it's seen better days)
In PvP there is one term you must simply know. You can't do that while stunned.
You say that shamans get mail while they trade nothing in return. This is false. Mail and shields are garbage against melee classes at this day and age. Rogues and warriors can disarm your shield in the first place, and a lot of damage is static (ie: armor doesn't affect it). Melee tears through anything below plate very quickly (provided there isn't a huge gear gap favoring the mail user).
Resto is fine in PvP to be completely honest, it's not amazing, but it's not the bottom of the barrel (but kind of close). They have good escape mechanics, and don't die very easily.
Elemental has a talent to earthbind root them (trinket), frost shock (dispellable, many classes have -% chance to have spells hit them), and tstorm (which usually fails due to a pebble in the way)
Elemental shamans are not good at kiting, frost shock is a decent way to kite, but the class is probably going to catch you quickly. Rogues sprint (and CloS), warriors intercept, DK's DG or ghoul stun you. enhance shamans will frost shock root you. Feral druids feral charge you.
We have earthbind totem (and the talent to root), and we have stoneclaw totem (the glyph) to help run away. But it simply isn't enough. We just recently had some changes to ghost wolf, and wind shear change but it won't get us out of the woods.
We are terrible in 1v1, and only good if we can sit back and nuke. And unfortunately people know this and that's why they go for us quickly, it isn't hard to kill us, and they know we can do fairly nice damage.
Now on to your part about multi-boxing. Shamans are a great multi-boxing class (although I'd personally prefer 5 affliction locks >:] ), but this is a terrible comparison anyways. Who cares if 5 of any class can kill you, or disrupt an attack. That doesn't prove they're OP or balanced. That just proves that a monkey behind a keyboard can smash a button several times until someone dies.
Shamans also lack in another aspect. Our magic schools
Fire (FlS and LvB)
Frost (Frost shock)
Nature (LB CL AND HEALS)
Kick my LB and I can't heal. silence my heal and I can't dps. I can't even tstorm.
I can earthbind and try to run away with a frost shock. It'll probably be trinketed, or I'll be rooted, stunned, and it won't matter. Then add the fact that classes usually have multiple ways to silence and they can rotate it fairly well.
Shamans pale in comparison to most classes. We don't counter very well, and a shaman has to play perfectly to win. Most classes can make mistakes and recover. Shaman class is not one of them.|||I have to agree with everyone here m8. Shamans are a bit useless at pvp at the moment. In my main arena team (holy paladin fury warr) we hardly find any teams with shamans in them, and when we do it is cake to manage, e.g. all the warrior has to do is run around charge/intercept/hamstring etc etc until down, usually taking around 15 seconds. :/ They are only really viable i think for 5v5 as they have chain moves and totems. Just stick on your dk m8 until shaman becomes pvp playable again :L|||This seems like a good thread for a first post ;)
Im currently playing a Resto Shamsham in PVP, and find it incredibly rewarding.
Firstly, survivablility is immensly high, and we have many ablilites to help us stay on top of things in any situation.
Secondly, Shamans heal incredibly well in PVP with Riptide/Chainhealz and LHW, as well as many other ablilites to baff ap team mates.
I think its unfair to say that shammies suck in pvp (which is clearly the direction this thread is heading in), but i agree with a few of the issues raised here (stuns lol, i **** my pants when some rogue pops up outa nowhere).
I also think that to understand shaman pvp you have get one to 80, as said before.

How to deal with jerks
[:1]I've got a level 24 warrior on an RPPVP server, and its great fun. I enjoy fighting off the raids and such. Everything is pretty much consensual: don't fight if you don't want it.
Recently, I was of a high enough level to go to Duskwood. Every day, one particular level 37 hunter ganks. Every. Single. Person. For hours. It makes the game no fun at all, its just about being a jerk to him, obviously.
Now, as much as I pity the fact he has no friends and no girlfriend to speak of, it's pretty tedious dying in three seconds, and corpse-running for four minutes.
Is there any way to deal with this sort of stuff, or do you actually have to let them win and leave the area until they go away?
Chris|||You might want to read up on WoW's definition of griefing under their punishment policy. (I would link it for you, but I can't get the official page to load for some stupid reason). It sounds to me as if that qualifies, and if so, that's a punishable offense.

First off, Don't criticize down to the point where you're verbally insulting his social life. Secondly, with that kind of attitude, might as well go back no the non-PvP servers. What's with these people in this game, everytime they get ganked one time or lose to a specific class during a duel, or miss the looting, or die because some skill had too long of a cooldown, always post in the forums hoping that it will make everything better. I'd say go back to a PvE server. You obviously can't take being ganked and if just one person is getting to you then just wait until you get higher and more people start to gank you when you're trying to finish a quest.
If you have to resort to personal insults because you were killed, or camped, or griefed then you're a little to fragile to be playing open PvP. People that post and cry about this thing only get griefed even more.|||I don't understand all this virtriol guys, he's been in the same place for 4 days, for hours at a time. I live with it as that is the nature of the beast although I have never found anyone give a satisfactory answer to the fact that someone who is 20 levels higher than you (or more) gets off his horse, kills you in two seconds, then corpse camps you for half an hour (which happened to me lol! :surprise: )
It is a PVP server but where is the challenge in that? In order to deal with the gankers you have to let people know in General Chat about the hunter. Trust me - more than enough people will come looking to gank back!!!!

Chris
Maybe he's role-playing a jerk?|||Quote:
Problem is that most people who play on a PVP server have ganked others at one time in their life. The lack of sympathy comes because people may think PVP = Kill any Horde/Alliance. They are right to some extent (I play on a PVP server and get ganked more often than not).
Don't let it get you down. Eventually you'll be high enough level to get your own back - just make a note of the name ;)
Good luck and enjoy the game! :happy14:

Some people say they do it because it happened to them. Other people say they do it to impeed the leveling process so the opposite faction doesn't have as many 60's. I do it to lowbies to cause grief or frustration. Griefing is an art form really, and it's part of the game.
Horde or Alliance?
[:1]Now when it comes to the battle grounds the horde win just about time. Now from what i've herd for other people its the other way around. Plz tell me that the sever i'm on is the only one like this.|||Do you happen to be on Eonar or Ahn'Quiraj(sp?)?
If you do, then you share my pain. My server seems to be the complete opposite of what I see people talk...
Horde wins BG 80% of the time. (Just about every time there are no twinks for ally)
Horde seem to be the 'jackasses' who corpse camp etc. and claim the 'worse side' prize.
The server is not full of NE hunters...its full of UD priests! I mean, I play alliance, specificly Night Elf, and I see pretty much more enemy priests than friendly hunters.|||I happen to be in either of thoes severs. It is not that we believe we are the "losing" side per se, just that we (the Horde) received the raw end of the deal when we were given leveling zones. Have you been to the Barrens or 1k Needles? They're not called those things for grins and giggles.
Horde have had a much harsher upbringing than their Alliance counterparts and thus are known to bond together and listen to coherent leaders when it comes to BG conquest. From my limited experience with the Alliance I can say that the fair-haired humanoids lack decent leaders when it comes to PUGs in the BGs.
There are always exceptions to this however, and I don't mean to categorize the Alliance as a whole (no matter how small or dorky or possibly akward they may be).|||I agree with you GlowSticky. Every time i go to BG(Alliance)we have no order no offence no defence or any plan. They just all zerg. Question for the HARDCORE PvP lovers
[:1]If you are not a hardcore pvp lover aka don't do much pve and spend 95% of your time in pve just click the back button right now! PvP Lovers only!
----------------------------------
Well, <3 hello my fellow pvpers. I have a couple of questions to go out to the PROS who know how to pvp, of any class, whom spend most of their time in the bgs. I havent played this game at all post BC and am looking to make a comeback.
---
1) I was a warrior in bc that was well geared and pwned face in 1vs1 against any class. Everyone back on my server back in the day KNEW who I was, no one ever msg'd me for PvE..everyone knew I was all about the bg's. In bc locks and mages were "hard" for warriors but the amount of time I spent pvping everything was just a free honor kill for me (unless they were the de-la-crop old timers that knew what they were doing because I sure as hell was...yes even against droodz)..
how do you fare against GOOD warriors in 1vs1 today?
2) I was interested in making a comeback for a long time now, but whenever I visit blizzard's PvP forums or the warrior forum, all I read is how the class sucks in 1vs1 now, how warriors "had their time" and how other classes are way ahead. (ret pallys and death knights are better in 1vs1 now against a pro warrior lul?) Is this true in terms of bg and 1vs1 pvp play against a veteran warrior? Btw i dont even know what the death knight is thats how long its been.
Does this class really suck THAT BAD from what I hear in this new expansion pack in 1vs1?
I dont want to hear ..well warriors dont suck but theyre not like they used to be. Basically in the hands of a vet, can they still kick butt? Or are the class restrictions just THAT hardcore; that even a war that knows what he's doing cant really succeed much now?
----
I quit this game a year+ ago (season3 arena of BC) because I disliked arenas, vent, getting stressed out over my teamates in 5's and 3's/2's..and I was a soloist at heart; hated teamwork. It burned me out in the end, and playing arena 1,000,000 times made me bored of the game having to deal with teamates, the same damn tiny arena maps, facing the same class combos in the upper ratings..etc..
Yes, I know its all bout' teamwork now and even during bc. Blizz pushes you to teamwork to get the best items for pvp. But for a guy that me that wants to do a splash of arenas for your basic armor set and an EXTREMELY small time spent in pve..is it worth the comeback?
Thanks guys.|||Quote:

1. Never. Ever. Listen to the official class forums for anything. They are filled with an amazing bunch of qq. I suggest another website, Arena Junkies, (I've looked at it several times and seen no gold seller ads. If I'm wrong, just yell, and I'll remove the reference) to check the actual stastical breakdowns of this class versus that class when handled by a competent player. I have heard only good things about pvp warriors, and, quite bluntly if that is the class you love and are best at, then it's the class you should pvp on. Period.|||Every single class is represented @ 2k+. Even Hunters.|||Yes. Wow is a bit more balanced now than BC i say, Yes theres much Burst but theres much healing too...
Warriors are in a good or very well state now, They are really good represented in Arena and always helpfull in any combo for 2vs/3vs/5vs5 because the MS effect and Warrior's burst
Dont check Wow official pvp site, its full of 12 years old people crying for everything ..
In my opinion Warrior is a good choice for a pvp player

Hello All, Question here! Please read!
[:1]Hello everyone,
First off, let me say I am not an avid WoW player, I played for a while but quit, quite some time ago. There is a lot I don't know about WoW so I am looking for help.
If anyone would be so kind to PM me or IM me ... (I can give you my instant messangers in PM or email) or email at SNIP (Sorry if this breaks any forum rules I did not know) .. all about...
The WoW PvP system. I need to know a LOT of information about it. I need to ask a lot of noob questions, I am even willing to pay someone a small amount to be my WoW PvP advisor for a couple days (via Paypal).
I would hope the WoW community would not want to charge, but as I am not sure how long this will take and I will be asking a lot of noob questions (I am more of an FPS player, but I am a very avid gamer, so I know how dealing with noobs is..) I will compensate for someones time.
This is not spam, and I do not want anyones money or information or anything like that. I do not want to talk about it in public forums, due to it is all business related, any specific questions as to why I ask please just ask up front (in private).
I just want to know your highest lvl char (or high lvl chars if you have multiple) and if you are willing to answer probably about 30 or so questions mostly relating to WoW PvP and even some noob questions about WoW. If it works out I may even consider having you help me with this project that is 50% done and under way.
I am looking for WoW PROs! You know who you are
PM me here or e-mail at SNIP (with something like WoW Help or WoW guide here in the title) I will be very happy to talk to you. Older people (18+) are preferred but all are welcome to message.
Any questions for me up front please ask, and I hope I can get some great help from the WoW community!

A few pointers : There is a edit function, and you are asked to use it instead of spaming multiple posts.

As for your question : All classes can be good at PvP. All classes can be fun. All classes have a DPS spec. Sorry for the general answers, but you will not get any other ones as long as you dont ask more specific questions.
As for knowledge about classes : That usualy comes while playing and while reading up rotations and the like in various forums.|||I think you'd have LOTS of fun playing a rogue, but you'll have to level it yourself. The amount of time and effort you decide to put into an arena team depends on what you want from it. My son, trying for Gladiator title this season, spends an average of 3 hours a day in the arenas. Other, not so dedicated (insane?) people spend enough time for 10-15 matches a week. 10 PvP WoW Questions!
[:1]Let me start off by saying, I am a WoW noob. I have not played this game much, but I am in need of help.
I have been trying to get someone to work with me personally, but due to the fact everyone thinks I am trying to scam them.. I am not going to, unless someone still wants to.
I have really nothing else to post about in these WoW forums as I do not even have an active WoW membership at this point (although I may be getting one soon)
I mainly play FPS/RTS and WoW just simply isn't for me. However, I respect WoW players and all fellow gamers alike, videogames rule!
Anyway, I am going to post the1 10 questions I have below. Everyone feel free to answer them.
If you only want to answer one of them, thats fine, at this point any information I can get would be nice.
I do understand most Wow terminology, but if there is something you think I would not know, please post in parthenseses.
Ex. Mob (group of a enemies)
Here is what I understand about the WoW PvP and let me know if I am wrong..
1. There is battlegrounds and there is Wow PvP servers where players can PvP.
2. Players can PvP anywhere and anyone if they are "flagged".
3. There is different types of PvP, although I am not sure I understand them.
4. And just to clarify, I do know about different classes, how gold works, etc, I know a decent amount about how PvE works in WoW as well as the normal gameplay.
Again, sorry to everyone who thinks I am scammer/spammer, but as I am working on this large project (a website, I am a PHP programmer),
I wish I could get on WoW and level up and learn the PvP system myself, but as I do not have a WoW account and do not plan on
at least getting one then leveling so high up to be able to PvP correctly. I simply do not have the time.
Maybe I can clear things up further by saying I'd like to add a WoW PvP aspect to a online videogaming website I already have in the works.
Here are the questions! I cut a lot of them out and tried to condense them so that people may answer. Any help at all, even just one question, helps me a lot!
Question 1: How many players do you think play PvP on WoW? (A percentage or number works here.)
Question 2: In WoW, what is a players main objective, besides leveling themselves and getting the best gear. After they do that, do players tend to turn to PvP to further "prove" themselves?
Question 3: How does the PvP system work? What are the battle grounds? How do specific PvP servers work? I know how different MMORPGs handle PvP, but not WoW.
Question 4: What is the ranking system for PvP like in WoW?
Question 5: I read about rewards, are they worth doing PvP for or do more people do it for prestiege?
Question 6: Is there 1v1, and team PvP only? This relates to the ranking system, is there a ranking system for team PvP and for 1v1 PvP. Or does it all tie in together somehow?
I really have no idea how this ranking system works.
Question 7: I read that Blizzard held a PvP tourney last spring, was it popular? Did people have to pay to play? Did anyone win real money?
Question 8: Is it possible, for a player, or group of players, to meet on WoW at a specific time during the day and PvP. I do understand the server restrictions, so if someone could not play
another team due the the fact they were on a different server, can they meet on a PvP server. Or does everyone HAVE to be on the same server to PvP.
Question 9: What are your thoughts on the PvP system in WoW? Rate 1-10. What do you love/hate about it?
Question 10: Does the PvP system that blizzard sastify the average PvPers needs? For instance, would it be nice to have a place where certain magic/skills was not allowed to use in gameplay. Or other
"rules" that Blizzard either does not enforce, or can not enforce. Would PvP be more enjoyable if it was more versitile?
Okay that is it for now, I still need more questions answered, but this will work for now!
I am still looking for a PvP Guide and personal in-game WoW aide for this project, so please contact me if you are interested.
Thanks in advance to everyone for their time and I will checking this thread often!
-Omni|||1. There is battlegrounds and there is Wow PvP servers where players can PvP.
True
2. Players can PvP anywhere and anyone if they are "flagged".
on PVP servers players can engage in PvP in any contested zone regardless if they are flagged or not, if your in a enemy zone they you cant attack them until they attack you, if they are in a zone owned by your faction then they cant attack you until you attack them
3. There is different types of PvP, although I am not sure I understand them.
There is Battleground PvP, (mass group battles), Arena PvP (Team battles) and World PvP (PvP that dosnt take place in a BG or Arena).
4. And just to clarify, I do know about different classes, how gold works, etc, I know a decent amount about how PvE works in WoW as well as the normal gameplay.
Good.
Question 1: How many players do you think play PvP on WoW? (A percentage or number works here.)
Kinda hard to give a number it could be almost any %
Question 2: In WoW, what is a players main objective, besides leveling themselves and getting the best gear. After they do that, do players tend to turn to PvP to further "prove" themselves?
It all depends in the player, some players are purely PvP and thats all they do, others like myself are interested in End Game trying to complete as much of the game as possible its totally dependent on the player
Question 3: How does the PvP system work? What are the battle grounds? How do specific PvP servers work? I know how different MMORPGs handle PvP, but not WoW.
Im not entirely sure i know hwo to answer this one so imma skip it :D
Question 4: What is the ranking system for PvP like in WoW?
There are numerous ranking systems, you got the old PvP Ranks (Grand Marshal etc) but they are feat of skills now) then you got the Arena Titles but you only get those for being the best team in a specific season, then there is the Achievement System, the more Achievement Points the more of the game you've completed.
Question 5: I read about rewards, are they worth doing PvP for or do more people do it for prestiege?
Some of the rewards are worth it, some people do it just to say they've done it yes but most time noone does anything unless there's a reason to do it.
Question 6: Is there 1v1, and team PvP only? This relates to the ranking system, is there a ranking system for team PvP and for 1v1 PvP. Or does it all tie in together somehow?
I really have no idea how this ranking system works.
with PvP, the Battlegrounds go from 10v10 (WSG) to 40v40 (AV), the Arenas go from 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 (but 2v2 has been taken out of rankings), 1v1 is more a world PvP thing (sometimes lol) and everytime you kill a enemy player that's around your level you get Honor.
Question 7: I read that Blizzard held a PvP tourney last spring, was it popular? Did people have to pay to play? Did anyone win real money?
Only the elite PvPers enter those things and yes they win real money i think the winners for something like $200,000 not too sure though im not a PvPer.
WoW has Cross Realm PvP, you can join a queue as either a individual or as a group and (for BGs) you will be placed with other players from across the servers that are on your battle group, same for Arenas except you can only sign up for a 2v2/3v3/5v5 if you have a team of those numbers and then you will fight another team from your battle group.
Question 9: What are your thoughts on the PvP system in WoW? Rate 1-10. What do you love/hate about it?
Id say a 7 but i dont PvP so i can hardly judge :D
Question 10: Does the PvP system that blizzard satisfy the average PvPers needs? For instance, would it be nice to have a place where certain magic/skills was not allowed to use in gameplay. Or other
"rules" that Blizzard either does not enforce, or can not enforce. Would PvP be more enjoyable if it was more versitile?
Skip|||Thank you very much for the response. :)|||I'm confused. On one hand you say that you are a solo fps/rts player and that wow is not for you. Okay, that's fine, gotcha. That's what warcraft is for...
On the other hand, you say you need help, want personal aid, have several wow based pvp questions...? I got lost in between these two points.

Hit vs. Spell Power
[:1]I am going to hit 80 with my main very soon and as I don't have a lot of time to do a bunch of raids I thought I would start to level another one of my alts.
I am sitting on a 49 Mage that I have been leveling as Frost. She is currently at +294 sp (no BoA items) but only has a hit of 10 and crit of 5.26%. What is my hit rating supposed to be? Everything I have done to this point has been to increase my SP so if I start moving things around to gain hit I'll loose SP. How much can I sacrifice before it becomes an issue?|||I wouldnt worry too much about hit rating until you hit 80. whilst its nice to be able to hit more often, whilst lvling, I would always pick spell power over hit. maybe personal preference.. just imo.|||Yep, u dont need hit at low lvl, not even till 70, u wont miss that Much
Hit rating is a must at raids( 80 ) lvl as u fight agaisnt 83 lvl elites, Thats why u need much hit
Just aim for as much spellpower u can :)|||Dont worry about hit until 80. Then you'll want to hit the cap for whatever you're doing (pve or pvp).|||Go for the Spell Power..

51-60 bracket back?? 60 twinks reborn!
[:1]I was at the blizzcon for a while ago, and they revealed that 60 twinks (and 70 aswell) will have a greater chance to enjoy vanilla wow.
Onyxia 60 again.
Locked exp players will be able to fight non-locked players.
Naxx REBORN!
This is just what i heard.
snippity
Well, i got source from blizzards official homepage.. check it out.. i dont know if it is just a very mean prank?
Peace.

Looking for a new PvP Server
[:1]I play a level 80 balance druid on Cho'gall, but the population imbalance is really starting to suck. There have been several days that i haven't even seen alli anywhere other than dalaran. On warcrraftrealms.com the ratio is 1:12. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a better pvp server with a high pop.|||have a look on warcraftrealms|||Thunderlord is pretty balanced ally-horde. Smaller that Cho'gall but i've had no problem running into horde and ally fights.|||I'm on Grim batol EU, the balance is great.
The PVP is good also, it isn't dominated by any of the races, very balanced.

I Dont Get the Arena Rating System
[:1]Hey all,
I'm a fairly intelligent person ... but I cannot understand the arena rating system. I will give an example of what I mean.
http://www.wowarmory.com/team-info.x...ions+Vengeance
This is my arena team ... we are 81 -59 on the season and have a rating of 1547.
Now observe these two teams:
http://www.wowarmory.com/team-info.x...ting+for+Rival
This team is 74-51 on the season and has a rating of 1801
http://www.wowarmory.com/team-info.x...ont+get+sapped
This team is 61-63 on the season and has a rating of 1657.
Now, I know one might say "they have higher MMR then you and thus are getting more points for their wins, or something like that. The problem is that we played these teams ... so they are around our MMR.
So what the heck is going on. How can we have more wins and a better win % and have a lesser rating. I know that it all depends on who you beat ... point totals from wins are dependent on the disparity of MMR between the teams. But if you look at their match history, its not as if they are playing and beating teams with MMR that are 2k+. So what is going on here?
Thanks for the thoughts. Cheers|||The arena system 'guesses' where you are supposed to be at. If you're sporting Relentless Gladiator weapons, it'll put you at a higher estimate than when you dinged level 80 a minute ago.
It then matches you against a team at that rating. You win? Great - maybe it was wrong and you should be higher up! So your MMR (match making rating) goes up and you get queued against higher rated teams. In the meanwhile, the game'll try to steer your team rating to match your MMR.
Oh dear, you lost the next game. Maybe that higher rating wasn't right after all. It drops you a bit and you fight another team. And lose again! So your MMR gets tuned down again - perhaps that first game was just a fluke. Who knows, maybe the rogue was sneezing when he was supposed to blind you.
If you play enough games, your MMR becomes somewhat fixed and it becomes harder to change it, unless you really win a string of games in a row.
So, not only does it depend on your performance (w-l ratio), it also depends on who you win or lose against. Losing against a team that's higher rated won't matter that much (it was to be expected, afterall). Losing against a team that's lower rated, repeatedly, will drop your MMR rather fast.|||everything Aerath said is true, but I would like to add another piece of information.
The ratio is only an indicator, but what if two teams have equal losses and wins? One team lost the first half and won the second half, the other team won the first half and lost the second half. I think the first team would have a higher rating than the second.|||The current arena rating system is currently based on several factors. The main factors contribiting to weather you win or lose are - your comp, your gear, and your team's skill.
You have a match making rating (mmr), a team rating (rating) and a personal rating (pr). In order to achieve a higher rating and pr ( in order to obtain gear and arena points), you need to increase your mmr which is determined by your wins against other teams.

On the comeback...
[:1]As the topic title states, I'm gonna try to comeback to WoW. Yes, it is probably a decision that will waste time, make me stressed, and end up giving me an blood clot in my brain...but I wanna play dammit!!
Anyways, I am new here, and somewhat new to WoW. I have an 80, but never played that much. Casually raided, downed ToC 25, and quit. Life basically got in the way of WoW, and im okay with that lol. I guess I havent been away for that long, but ICC is coming and I wanna re-roll and be well on my way by then...which wont be hard because of RAF lol.
Here's what I'm looking for...A new, PvP server, new and best Battlegroup out there for PvP in general, and a server that isnt achievement crazy!!
Also, if anyone wants to play together or has a nice leveling guild going on a PvP server that is poppin'...let me know. Probably gonna roll a druid/rogue...most likely both cause I want a PvP character and a raiding character.
I think this is a good first post :P
Waiting for your response...
Cudi`|||Hey Cudi,
I'm on Black Dragonflight and the Guild I'm in is Krew Killaz (sp? it's a new guild name so can't remember how to spell it! lol). Anyway, my friend and I are currently leveling a couple Druids for pvp. He also has a Pally and a DK that he's using a lot now too. The two of us are gonna focus on pvp, but the peeps in the guild like their dungeons too, so we're a lil bit of both, and it'll be good for picking up some good gear down the road. If you wanna join up send me ur info and I'm sure I can get u signed on.
Hassy.|||Depending on horde or alliance you want to re-roll to, I suggest you visit arenajunkies.com & wowjutsu.com and sort by the top pvp/raiding guilds on each battleground and then which server. Then, very important, make a character on each of these top servers and make sure the ping is under 200mS for you.
