Hi guys,
I've been searching the web on and off for some viable strategies for a Marks Huntard/Holy Pally 2v2 combo. There doesn't seem to be a wealth of information on it on the internet. For example on arenajunkies.net they have alot of strats to beat various 2v2 but using different combos. There isn't much there to help a hunter/paladin. I assume this is the case because hunter/paladin isn't an OP cookie cutter combo?
I thought a bit of empirical research was in order! First off here are our armoury profiles:
Tobianus
Thunderbum
I'm looking for some general tips we should really be aware of as we play, such as how we can effectively use LOS, good communication strategies, and general combat strategies. Then if anyone has in depth knowledge on how to beat specific 2v2 combos as a hunter/pally team that would be great as well.
Tobi and I play the drain game though sometimes we do switch to going nuts on a target and interrupting the healer with traps, silence shot, scatter shot and Hammer of Justice. It does depend on who we are versing.
So some questions I have are:
Does anyone know of any guides on the web I could look at?
Has anyone got any useful suggestions for us to help improve our game?
We tend to have alot of problems with rogues, druids as well as priests. Generally speaking we can handle warriors easily enough.
It can get very frustrating for us at times, because we seem to hit a glass ceiling around the 1600 mark. Grinding to 1600 was incredibly difficult, though we are improving. I must say I am impressed at whoever can get above 1650 rating... you guys must be Gods on the keyboard. It probably helps knowing how to play every class really well - that's my downfall. I just know what hunter abilities work well against different classes, but I'm not aware of the specific abilities and talents of each class that perhaps I should be aware of.
Cheers guys! ;)
On a side note, I'm really looking forward to WotLK... I'll be rolling a DK.. I think a DK/Pally 2v2 combo would be a force to be reckoned with!
|||I ran Holy Pally and Arena spec'd Marks hunter 2v2 combo for a while.
We hit the glass ceiling just under 1700.
I can't scope your armory works web sense ftl. but some general comments I can make on it.
From the general feeling it's pretty much one of the toughest combo's to do well with. Why? Burstability, any team with a healer is going to be difficult particularly a druid. I have solid PvP gear as in like a mix of S3, S4 and I just don't have the burst to get a player low and manage to finish him off before they get a big heal. Frustrating as hell imo!
When we hit teams like that we played the traditional outlast their mana pool game.....imp stings with a scorpid tacked on to the healer at all times. With a druid you gotta be super careful they just don't kite your pet out of LOS and kill it, so attention to your pinchy is a must.
If you can ever get a druid OOM the game becomes much more simple, kill their dps class, try to trap the Bear when he pops form and stun charges you and continue to kite kill their dps.
Alot of your strategy is going to greatly depend on which arena you are in...you said you are very aware of your own abilities...The Nagrand arena should be your friken playground.
Pole hump kite any class to death pop out far away and burn down a melee as he tries to reach you. Keep him on the pole frost traps wing clips anything you can.
Best strategy I have seen is having you stand between two of the poles while your healer pops out and LoS's you while you are slowing and burning the other dps..your paladin needs to be a pole humping expert as well to keep the other teams dps busy.
B.E.M I always try to pull the other teams dps under the bridge and out of los of their healer...my paladin will try to HoJ their healer while I am nuking the dude under the bridge if we can't get him down we start to pole hump and try to keep the dps out of los of heals. Melee dps will always chase you and you can usually get them to forget that they need heals at least for 5 or 6 secs.
I absolutely hate the Lorderan arena, my only advice there try to use the crypt to your advantage and the starting rooms...that place is just a straight pain in the ass to me.
Just google Arena Strats and you'll see a bunch of sites, the more popular ones we are not allowed to link here, but you'll know them when you see them.|||Thanks Bpaige for your help! Greatly appreciated! Oh by the way, we hit 1600... now we aren't touching that team (aside from skirmishing for practice) until we both get our chests! lol. :P
