Arena Questions.

I've searched for some answers to basic arena questions but couldn't find them.

1. Should I wait until 70 to start an arena team? Would it be pointless to start at 60 (just hit it yesterday)?

2. The "Blue Gear" i've seen people talk about in other threads that you buy from the "Rep Vendors," where is it? Is it 70 stuff?

3. Can I join in the middle of a season?

And I think that's it for now.|||1. You can only create an arena team at L70. Only practice rounds are open to you prior to that. It may help with tactics to practice at a lower level but L70 gear changes the field a lot.

Thanks for the answers, man. I had a feeling it was a 70-only thing (which kind of sucks, but it also prevents twinks, which is something I think is absolutely ridiculous and easily solved).

I'm looking forward to getting into this, I think it will be a lot of fun. BG's are fun (more so recently since i've began to figure them out with some help from a 70 that's been giving me tips) but I like the more personal "1v1" team thing.|||The blue rep gear can be obtained from the following factions (You must be honored with the faction to be able to get it)

Thanks a lot. :) I'm guessing they're a good starting point for PvP?|||To be perfectly honest, you're better off spending the time you would have otherwise spent gathering the gold and flying to each vendor, on getting stuck into BGs and getting some honour equpiment (otherwise known now as S2 gear, that is, gear that used to be the most powerful available for pvp during Arena Season 2). The advantage you will get with the blue gear is absolutely minimal if you have decent quest blues.

If you want to compete seriously in Arena, just grind honour until you have all the best honour equipment possible. At the same time, grab some pals/randoms as soon as you hit 70, and do as much 5v5 as you can for points. Get some of the gear you can only buy with arena points (S3, S4). I would have to completely disagree with this statement, with a caveat however....certain classes could probably get away with it.

However under most circumstances the survivability gained from the stamina as well the resilience will most certainly be noticeable. On my hunter I was wearing full kara, za and t5 epics and I got sick of getting my **** pushed in during battle grounds, I "down graded" to the PvP blues and my survivability went up considerably.

It's more fun to live longer than watching crudy players tear through you like you are wearing tissue paper and you can't kill them with your epics on simply cause they have the blue gear or s1 stuff.

The blue stuff is great PvP starter gear and it was designed to be just that.

Now if you are working your way to 70 slowly and stopping to smell the roses, aka PvP pre 70 in Bg's and such, it might be advantageous to just save up your honor and get yourself as much of the S2 gear that you can as soon as you ding 70. Then you can fill in the rest of the pieces with the honor gear from the quarter masters at the factions listed above.

I think you will find at 70 rolling into BG's in blue quest rewards and PvE instance gear will be a very frustrating experience.|||Does anyone know about how much honor it would cost for a set of S2 gear? =D I have a feeling I need a lot more honor. lol|||Quote:

Agreed in context of PvP, disagree in context of PvE, which is the way it should be, I think. My priest swapped from an overpowered for Kara healing set to the PvP blues and her surviveability went way up in Arenas. On the other hand, my warlock had a pair of quest blue gloves that beat the DPS increase from every pair of arena gloves prior to the Brutal. Still wore gladiator gloves for actual PvP though.|||Quote:

11250 - 14500 honor ? I think plus 20-40 marks for bgs (1 set per item)

weapons I think are 15000 or so for 1h and 22000 for 2h and marks.. this is just a rough estimate, if you want to know exact prices download altas loot and it will show you the reqs
