Rogue here, I noticed many rogue prefer maces for pvp. Now, I understand that if you spec combat maces, then you get 3% (i believe) chance to stun with mace specialization. Ok, that could be a small advantage. But I see subtlety rogues using maces too. The subtlety tree has no weapon specialization. Is there a special thing about maces as opposed to swords, for example?|||Maces have good top end damage. Goes well with hemo builds.|||Does that mean that hemo deals 115% (rank 3 for example) of the **top end** weapon damage? Is that how it works?|||and the fact that they look badass doesnt hurt either, but personally i like fists|||The way i understand it, the 110% is 110% of the weapons damage range, for example, say a weapon's base damage is 90-100. If I'm understanding it correctly, hemo would do 99-110 damage based on this weapon, ignoring all other factors, like ap or damage increasing talents.
(Note, this is coming from my understanding of hunter abilities which calculate damage in a similar way, so correct me if i'm wrong)|||Force of habit - people just stuck to 'em from back when Maces were the top PvP build.|||Well for me, I would prefer to have a smaller damage range, it makes more sense and it also does more consistent damage. If my mace does 90 damage at one time and 190 another time, that is really kind of all over the place. Anyway. Thanks for the replies.|||Quote:

Ignore smaller damage ranges. Consistent damage doesn't kill anyone. Burst kills people. More precisely, coordinated burst kills people.|||Quote:

Hmm, you have a point there.
