Paladins - what was Bliz thinking?

Seriously, are there any non-paladins who actually don't think paladins are ridiculously OP? Stuns, heals, high dps, AND an immunity shield? WTF? It's like having god mode. Any other game would require a cheat code for that kind of crap.

Of course the paladins won't admit to being OP. Why would they? They have it all and they want to keep it. But the rest of us reasonable people know better. We know it's goofy to make one class so dominating. It ruins the whole game.|||They are damn hard I admit, but not OP. Get any ranged on them and they fall pretty quick.

No class is OP, it's just the strange burst mechanics atm. You could also start a thread about rogues/death knights/mages too :)

There is one particular Paladin though that strikes the fear of God-knows-what into me when I meet him. But for the most part they are doable.|||Phhh, when you have hunters and mages prancing about with the ability to decimate their opponents in seconds, safely, from a long way away then I think that a healing/tanking class deserves a speed buff and shield ability! They are then able to break stalemates and ranged formations with said shield which is an invaluable addition to any battle group.

What Blizzard really need to be getting on with is tweaking the current BG's such as adding a timer to 'Warsong Gultch' so as we can have a 15 minute match without worrying about it descending into a messy, time wasting slog.|||Quote:

I really hate jumping into this kind of stuff, and I'm certainly not going to throw any L2P insults around, but does anyone else besides me think that 90% or more of the constant "OP" cries come from people who think that because they have the best gear that they should by default run people down like Mack trucks? It doesn't work that way, just because you're decked out in purples and enchants, doesn't mean some guy who really studies his class, class mechanics, and general tactics isn't going to beat you to a bloody pulp in PVP.

Maybe if THEY learned all of the above, they'd have a better chance too. There is no "OP" class, tthere are awesome players, good players, mediocre players, and people who should really just stay out of PVP. Blizzard can't adjust a single thing without 10,000 people having a heart attack over it. Good lord people, if they nerf one thing, use your other skills to your advantage. Don't go crying on forums for pages and pages because suddenly you can't get that extra 2 dps out and can't figure out any other way to put odds in your favor. If you seriously cannot adjust to a perceived or real disadvantage and come up with a Plan B, you really ought not to bother playing.|||Quote:

Well you can consider me in that 10% that doesn't. I don't claim to be the best player in the game. Far from it. But I'm a decent player. I don't expect to win every time. What I do expect is a balanced match up. I'm sorry, but anyone who can do enough damage to kill you before their immunity shield wears off shouldn't even have an immunity shield. The only way to kill a heavy hitter is by hitting them. The immunity shield makes this impossible, and thus throws off the balance of the game.|||Rock, Paper, Scissors.

That's all I got to add to this "discussion".|||Quote:

You don't fight them when they have their wings up or bubble on. If you see wings you cc them and wait. If they have their bubble up you run or make yourself immune (iceblock or whatever).

If you see a rhino charging at you the best strategy isn't to face him head on.|||Quote:

Exactly, in war, knowing when NOT to attack is just as important as knowing when to.|||While ret pallies can kill me, I know to run when they have their shield up. What I don't think is right, is that they get to wear plate, have great burst, and get an immunity shield. I think that shield should be in their holy tree (far down) as a talent or they shouldn't be able to do any damage with the shield up.

It's very frustrating when you actually get them to low health and then they just bubble and kill you. All you can do is try to run.

At least with rogues (I really hate rogues), I know that if I survive the stun, I have a chance.|||As a NE druid, can't you shadowmeld/cheetah and reset and re-engage, knowing that they can't bubble anymore now? It's not like the shield doesn't have a cooldown.
