[:1]I've been playing BG's for awhile now, and still don't understand how the some of the scoring works. I'll break it down for you:
1. When you return or capture a flag, do you recieve more honor? Does your whole team get the honor if so?
2. Do you get more honor for getting a killing blow in a BG?
3. Why is the bored sorted by killing blows and not honor kills?
4. What determines how much honor you get in a BG when you kill someone? I always see HK: Grunt and HK: Scout pop up also. What does that mean? Is that what rank the other person was? Do you get more honor for killing that person?
Thanks for all the help. These boreds have provided me with alot of information in the past, an I appreciate it.|||1. i believe that you get a slight bonus (could be wrong) when you return or capture the flag, but the whole team gets bonus for a flag capture
2. the amount of honor you recieve is based how much dmg you do i beleive, so a killing blow would probly result in more honor.
3. bc all you have to do to get a hk in bg is just target them and stand there (since your in a party), lol, takes not real effort, therefor hk's dont really matter. kb's mean you had to actaully do something.
4. yes, it tells you their rank when you kill them, though i belive if they are rank 0 it will say honor kill scout or honor kill private anyway.
5. if you watch your combat log, it will tell you your approximate honor, but keep in mind that it doesnt take into account taht you get less honor after several kills. first kill gets 100% of normal honor, second gets 80% of the honor, third 60%, and so down till eventually you get no honor for killing someone.|||Quote:

Not really different from just standing there AND(whoo, big one coming ) waiting to hit your fireblast to get the kb. Everyone in the Battleground that is part of the faction that captured the flag receive the same amount of points, it doesnt matter if you are grouped.

Killing Blows in Battlegrounds do nothing but put you higher on the score board.

in my openion the score board should be sorted by the amount of honor a player has gained throughout the battle. but the current way is just the way blizzard set it up.

Honor is calculated by four Factors in a fight.
Rank of Opponent
Level of Opponent
Amount of Damage caused to the Opponent
How many times you have killed that Opponent
Each time you kill an Enemy the Amount of Honor you receive from that Enemy will be reduced by 25% untill you cant recieve any more honor from that Opponent. This last for 24hours, so after you have killed someone 4 times you can no longer gain honor untill the next day.
When you kill your Opponent (or play a part in their death) it displays that you have received an Honorable kill and the Rank of the Enemy you killed(or helped kill) The higher The rank of your Opponent the more honor you receive.
The Level of the Opponent gives Honor Accordingly, to prevent making it worth killing lowbies.
and finaly but most importantly, The Amount of damage you inflict on your opponent is what gives you the best chance at receiving the most honor from the kill. (ex. If an Opponent dies and you dealt 100% of the damage you will receive 100% of the Honor as long as it is the first time you killed that Opponent)
If you right click your General Chat Tab and go to Combat Messages and check Honor Gain it will show you the amount of Honor you receive from your kills.

Does the honor decay rule (100% the first time, then 75%, etc) apply to BGs aswell?
I heard AV can last up to 5 hours, so when you kill the same person over 4 times, you get no honor from them?

Yes honor decays the same in Battlegrounds as it does in World PvP. The reason the rule is in place is to keep players organising Fight Clubs.(ex. getting a group of players from the horde and alliance together and kill eachother over and over till they gain the amount of honor they want)

I dont exist outside of WoW except on Weekends|||Does the HP system run differently with the new patch system? I noticed that I may have killed 12 and someone else kills 6 but they get more HP then I do? I am really trying to understand the scoring system....lol I guess I am a little slow....
Can someone help me understand it better?
Thanks|||Reading all about damage done etc makes me wonder about healers. Is it only damage done and healers are stuffed? Or do the heals count towards honour as well?|||@ariesofdeath
As far as I know, you get Honorable Kills (HKs) if anyone in your BG group kills an enemy. But (1) the enemy has to give you honor (i.e. no more than 5 levels below you) and (2) you can't be too far away.
As far as I can tell now, each HK still gives you a HP. And as in the past you get bonuses for BG accomplishments (like capturing a flag in WSG)

Healers get HKs (HPs) for the amount they heal. I don't know how it's calculated, but my holy paladin was always in the top of the table at the end of any BG.|||I got a question. Right now I have like 12k honor on one of my toons. What's going to happen to that when cata comes out? Will the honor points over 4k be turned to gold? If I am going to lose the excess, what would u advice to do?
